Andrew Jackson's Hermitage welcomes visitors with an introductory film about this transformative but complicated 7th president of the United States.  In Jackson, Jackson experts and authors, including NPR host Steve Inskeep, who authored Jacksonland; Jon Meacham, author of the Pulitzer-winning Jackson biography American Lion; renowned Harvard professor and writer Annette Gordon-Reed; and Daniel Feller, editor of the Papers of Andrew Jackson at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, tell the story of Jackson's life.

3D depictions of historical artwork and live action scenes explore pivotal moments of Jackson's presidency, including his veto of the Second Bank of the United States and the South Carolina nullification crisis. These turning points demonstrate both his populist viewpoint and his determination to keep the union together. But the film also shows some of the low lights of Jackson's career and life, such as the Indian Removal Act and his ownership of slaves.  In Jackson, visitors gain an understanding of Jackson and his ideals, the dramatic changes taking place in America during his presidency and his legacy for the future of American politics.

Widescreen 17-minute Color DVD.
